Shavuot at Sinai Temple
Tuesday, June 11th through Thursday, June 13th
On Tuesday, June 11, as we usher in the holiday of Shavuot, Rabbi Alan will join with other rabbis and cantors throughout the world in offering a virtual Tikkun Leil Shavuot, echoing the tradition to study throughout the evening on Erev Shavuot to celebrate the giving of the Torah. Check out the entire catalog of offerings, and register for this free program, by clicking here.
Rabbi Alan is scheduled to teach at 8 PM Central. His topic will be "It's a Small World After All?" What the Disney theme parks can teach us about Jewish text and tradition.
On Thursday, Juna 13, at 10 AM, we will hold an Egalitarian Traditional service for the second day of Shavuot. We'll hear selections from the Book of Ruth, chant the Hallel psalms of praise, and recite the Yizkor memorial prayers. If you'd like to sign up for a role in the service, please click here.
The service will be followed by a potluck Kiddush lunch. On Shavuot, it is traditional to eat dairy foods such as blintzes, cheesecake, and kugels, but any and all contributions to the potluck are appreciated. Please click here to sign up if you are able to bring an item.
