About Our Service Project
Low Barrier Opportunities for Children to Uplift Our Local Community
CUJF PJ Library is excited to use the National Days of Jewish Service (NDJS) grant to put together care packages with essential items for our community members experiencing homelessness. This activity is perfect for children of any age that can help sort, pack, or unwrap items!
After the packages are assembled, they will be donated to Cunningham Township, along with any unpackaged items, where they will be distributed directly to community members in need.
We will also bring any donations of the following Unopened/Unused items:
- Winter coats, hats, scarves and gloves
- Sanitary pads or tampons
- Wet wipes or other hygene products
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Socks and underwear
- Blankets
- Dry/uncooked pasta
- Instant ramen/oatmeal/just add water cup meals

About National Days of Jewish Service:
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Honoring Dr. King Through Jewish Service and Action
MLK Weekend of Service brings Jewish service into focus at a critical moment for social change and bridge-building. As part of the National Days of Jewish Service, this weekend draws on Jewish values and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to advance the ongoing work of racial equity and civil rights.
Through service and learning, volunteers strengthen relationships between Jewish and Black communities, deepen understanding of systemic injustice, and show up in meaningful partnership. From local neighborhoods to communities around the world, volunteers are answering the call for social change through Jewish service.
About Repair The World
Repair the World is the Jewish service movement. They connect Jewish young adults to service and learning rooted in Jewish values—meeting urgent needs like food insecurity, housing, and education while building identity, community, and belonging.
This program is made possible through the Repair the World: National Days of Service Microgrant to support meaningful Jewish service programs. These grants help communities bring local service ideas to life while advancing racial equity, civil rights, and Jewish values in action.
