Courage to Remember, a traveling exhibit about the Holocaust, will be displayed at the Booth Library at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois from January 27, 2025, to January 31, 2025.
Taking place between 1941 and 1945, the Holocaust was the largest and most organized state-sponsored genocide on Earth and is a pivotal part of the Jewish people’s story in modern times. It is also the most blatant example of the escalation of prejudice and discrimination into hate and violence.
The exhibit, which consists of a series of large panels with illustrations and text, has traveled to more than 50 countries and been seen by more than 20 million visitors. It presents information about the Holocaust in chronological order and includes first-person accounts, historical photos, and maps.
