Ambassador Leiter has served as Israel’s top diplomat in Washington since January 2025. He has held senior roles, including serving as an advisor to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Chief of Staff to then-Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Education. He holds advanced degrees in law, political science, and international relations and earned a PhD in political philosophy.
