Sinai Temple is excited to welcome our Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Betsy Stone on October 24-25. Dr. Stone, a retired psychologist, is an engaging speaker whose passion for wellness in the lives of families has brought her invitations to teach throughout North America and Europe. Dr. Stone tackles some of the most difficult issues facing families and organizations today: developing character, dealing with stress and anxiety, facing trauma and its aftermath. Her optimism, critical thinking, and hopeful approach help people find ways to change and grow.
Dr. Stone will be with us at Shabbat services on Friday evening, October 24 at 7:30 PM, and at the Egalitarian Traditional service on Shabbat morning, October 25, at 10 AM.
She will present at a kiddush luncheon and study session on Saturday afternoon, October 25, beginning at approximately 12:30 PM
Finally, Dr. Stone will lead a special session at 7 PM on Saturday evening, October 25, including Havdalah and a dessert reception, to address trauma and anxiety among high school and college students. All are welcome, but students and their families are particularly encouraged to attend.
RSVPs are required for the luncheon and Havdalah events. Please click here to RSVP.
Dr. Stone's visit is made possible through the generous support of the Marvin and Esther Steinberg Scholar-in-Residence Fund of the Champaign Urbana Jewish Endowment Foundation.
