Papashoy (corn) plays klezmer music in the style of the village bands of Yiddish Eastern Europe’s own corn country. Members are Frances Harris and Amanda Ramey (violins), Rob Sweedler (accordion), Rob Krumm (guitar), Charlie Harris (bass), and Cody Jensen (poyk and mandolin). For this special performance, the band will be playing from the instrumental collections of Moyshe Beregovsky, who crisscrossed Ukraine during the Soviet period collecting traditional melodies from musicians and singers.
