CHAI Seniors is excited to host Dr. Wojtek Chodzko-Zajko, the Dean of the Graduate College at the University of Illinois. For many years he was the Head of the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health and the Shahid and Ann Carlson Khan Endowed Professor of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois. He is an expert on Health and Aging, and will share some of this expertise with our group.
Chodzko-Zajko has had a vibrant professional career. After receiving his bachelor’s in education from the University of London in 1979, he received his Ph.D in exercise physiology from Purdue University in 1984. In addition to serving on the World Health Organization committee that developed the WHO Guidelines for Physical Activity among Older Persons, he was also the Principal Investigator for a series of projects charged with developing a national strategy for promoting healthy aging in the USA.
